CGS LEC 202 Sophomore Seminar Tutor Training
1 cr.
This course prepares students for the role of peer tutor. Topics include active and collaborative learning, critical thinking and problem solving, interpersonal communication, and assisting peers with how to effectively and efficiently learn subject-related content.
Prerequisites: Open to current peer tutors at the Waukesha Academic Success Center and Washington County Learning Commons. It is required of all students tutoring in the math and course-specific/subject area tutoring programs. Continuing tutors must pass the course with a C or higher to stay employed as a tutor.

CGS LEC 203 Tutoring Seminar: Learning Center Research and Practice
1-3 cr.
Students will examine the ways individualized peer instruction can be beneficial and a range of strategies for offering such instruction, and will reflect on peer observations of their own tutoring.
Prerequisites: CGS LEC 202(P) or CGS ENG 291(P).

Off- or on-campus experiential learning activities designed to provide students with the opportunity to make connections between their coursework and a professional work environment.

CGS LEC 305 (U)Applied Project Management
1 cr.
Development and application of project management skills using project management software. Assigned projects will require students to apply project management, leadership, and teamwork skills in a practical context. This course employs the Project Management Body of Knowledge PMBOK from the Project Management Institute PMI. PMBOK has become the basis for the Project Management Professional PMP certification exam.
Prerequisites: junior level status and CGS MAT 110 or equivalent.

This course is designed to offer a culminating learning experience for students nearing the completion of the Bachelor of Applied Arts and Sciences degree. The fundamental aim of the course is to equip students with the learning capacities and competencies necessary for continued career, civic, and personal growth. You will focus on executing, completing, and reviewing the capstone project. The final capstone project, its outcomes and implications, will be shared in a campus or community presentation.
