This program provides courses to increase the knowledge and awareness of transition planning for students with disabilities from school to adult life. Students will critically examine the components of state-of-the-art transition practices for students with disabilities including how to collaborate with the adult service system and the business community, support students on the job, conduct culturally responsive transition assessment, and link academic instruction to transition practices.

Other courses from the sponsoring departments may be approved by the Transition for Students with Disabilities Certificate Program Coordinating Committee as electives.

Completion of the Transition for Students with Disabilities Certificate will require that students earn a grade of C or better in all certificate coursework.

Admission

Applicants to the undergraduate certificate program will need to have a minimum of a 2.5 GPA upon entry to the program. Application to the program is conducted with an undergraduate academic advisor.
