The Certificate in Arts Integration and Learning is a 15 credit, multidisciplinary program offered jointly by the Department of Art and Design in the Peck School of the Arts and the Department of Curriculum & Instruction in the School of Education.
 
This program is designed to give undergraduate and post baccalaureate students an understanding of best practices in arts integration with an emphasis on project based learning through students' capstone experience. The Certificate is for students in any teacher certification program at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee, but especially for Early Childhood Education; Middle Childhood/Early Adolescence Education; Art, Music, Dance, or Theatre Education students who wish to complement their major with an additional concentration in Arts Integration.
 
The Certificate in Arts Integration and Learning is also open to all students seeking a Bachelor’s degree or post baccalaureate certification from UWM and to students who previously received a Bachelor’s degree with teacher certification from UWM or any other accredited college or university. Additionally, the Certificate is open to non-degree students who have a strong interest in this area. Students completing the Certificate not in conjunction with a degree must be admitted to the university as non-degree students and meet regular university admission requirements. Students completing the Certificate not in conjunction with a degree are not eligible for financial aid.

Requirements

The Arts Integration and Learning Certificate consists of 15 credits. Students must achieve a grade point average of 2.5 or above in all courses counting towards the Certificate. Courses counting for the Certificate may not be taken on a credit/no credit basis.
