The undergraduate microcredential in Interprofessional Leadership in Healthcare is an educational and career benefit to anyone planning for a career or currently working in the healthcare industry. The required courses are available in a fully online format or through the UW System Flexible Option Program and semester based UWM courses.
Interprofessional education and leadership skill development is encouraged by many organizations, including the Interprofessional Education Collaborative (IPEC), World Health Organization (WHO) and the National Center for Interprofessional Practice and Education (NCIPE).

Through completion of the assessments and and activities required in the Interprofessional Leadership in Healthcare microcredential you will demonstrate competency in:
- Skills for professionalism and ethical standards of practice.
- Application of the interprofessional practice domains of interprofessional communication, teamwork and professionalism, roles and responsibilities, and values and ethics.
- Critical evaluation of the fundamentals of diversity, equity, and inclusion as they can be enacted within the four interprofessional competencies.
The program is open to degree-seeking and University special students. It consists of nine credits (three courses) taught by UWM faculty and staff who are advanced members of health professions and engaged in interprofessional education and practice. The program collaborates between the School of Biomedical Sciences & Healthcare Administration and the School of Rehabilitation Sciences and Technology.
The required courses can be completed in any order and are available as electives for any student. These courses are required for the Biomedical Sciences Health Sciences degree completion. The microcredential is recognized on your final transcript and with an electronic badge, an electronic document indicating competencies and various learning achievements.
Your advisor will assist with declaring this microcredential and submission for your badge award.
