The School of Nursing (SON) offers two undergraduate microcredentials, one in Conflict Transformation and Resilience and one in Community and Organizational Change.

Building peace in our community, nation, and the world will depend on our ability to work well together to address systemic issues and pursue innovative opportunities. The microcredentials help students develop a foundation in these essential skills as an enhancement of their major area(s) of study. It provides an interdisciplinary perspective to undergraduate students in any field who wish to explore how peace and conflict exist in, shape, and transform communities and societies. 

The microcredentials can enhance the resume of students going into education, environmental science, public administration, healthcare, health promotion, law, international affairs, human resources, and global business, among other fields. The programs are interdisciplinary, drawing upon theories and skills from a variety of fields.

Microcredential in Community and Organizational Change 

This microcredential teaches skills for organizing people, projects, and information. Consideration is given to the use of nonviolent change and communication. The focus is on deepening the why and the how of establishing or expanding community engagement in projects that aim to impact local communities.
