Notes

  1. We have entered a global health crisis with the rise of "superbugs" that are resistant to our most-used antibiotics, and a lack of novel antibiotics. Students in this course will learn microbiological tools and crowd-sourcing efforts in discovering the next generation of antibiotics. Students will identify and characterize antibiotic-producing soil microbes and contribute their findings to a global network of student researchers and experts. Interested students from all disciplines are welcome.
